G-Eazy's tenth studio album, Helium, was a decent introduction to someone who is not the most familiar with G-Eazy. The album consists of some good, catchy songs like "Kiss The Sky" and "Dream About Me", closely followed by After Dark. Title track Helium, How Can You Sleep, and Vampires with features from X Ambassadors, Olivia O'Brien, and Bahari, respectively, are work very nicely together.

GRWM –  6

Kiss The Sky – 10

Helium – 8

Outside – 5

Dream About Me – 10

Fight & Fuck – 9

Nada – 8

After Dark – 9

How Can You Sleep – 8

Vampires – 8

With my scoring system, songs that I give an enjoyment score of 6 or higher make the liked song playlist and respected genre playlists, but on this album, outside, did not make the cut. The instrumentation felt overpowering, and the auto-tune just felt out of place.

If you are unsure of G-Eazy as an artist, there will most probably be a song or two you like in this album. Eazy continues to prove he has one of the slickest and smoothest flows.

Final Thoughts

The highs of this album are great, but some songs drag it down, and I do expect better from someone who has been in the industry for so long. But overall, a good album.
