The anonymous band President bring their debut album to the world: Blood Of Your Empire. The album consists of 10 songs, four of which were singles. The band generated strong interest when they released their first single, “In the Name of the Father,” in 2025, and have since released several singles and an EP titled King Of Terrors in the lead-up to this album.

Doom Loop was interesting, with lyrics that discuss important issues in the music industry. “Don’t believe what you read in the magazines” is one line that stood out to me, as I have heard people in my own friend group refer to the band as an industry plant. It is both heartwarming and eye-opening to see artists address points that some bring up. With Pink Noise, I liked the juxtaposition of the slow, calm verses to the loud, heavy screams of the pre-chorus and chorus.
This Dionysus version is better than the original, with zero or heavily reduced autotune, letting the lead singer's skill and power come through beautifully.
This Will Divide Us is an experience. Going into the song, after listening to the previous seven songs, everything about This Will Divide Us seemed off or misplaced, but the song grew on me. It is certainly the most unique on the album, and I will let you decide whether it is a welcome addition, but it will divide some listeners. Personally, I like it; it gave a slow break between songs, allowing President to showcase another element of their talent.
My least favourite track on the album is Hate Figure; the song still makes the playlist, but I think the rapping feels slightly overdone. Though I gave it a 7, it's closer to a 6.5, so I would round up to a 7. I would also like a longer album, and I know you can say that for most artists; you always want more, but with any album of 10 or below, I will always say I want more.
Overall this is a solid album from President, but doesn't get me headbanging as much as I would like.
