Different Night Same Rodeo

Bailey Zimmerman returns with his second studio album, Different Night Same Rodeo, an album filled with strong vocals and feel-good country sounds. Bailey develops from his hugely successful debut album Religiously back in 2023. The two collaborations in the album, Kid Lario and Luke Combs, are both good additions, adding a fresh element to Bailey's unique sound.

This 18-song album is full of modern country songs that all complement one another for the just under one hour run time.

Enjoyment of each song:

Comin’ in cold – 10

Ashes – 10

Chevy Silverado – 8

Yours For The Breaking – 9

Lost – 9

Holy Smokes – 9

When It was – 9

It’s all good – 8

Backup Plan – 8

New To Country – 8

At The Same Time – 10

Hell or High Water – 9

These Nights – 10

Everything But Up – 10

Before You – 10

Holding On – 10

Dare You To Try It – 10

Happy Ever After Me –  9

At the same time, it is one of the standouts in the album for me, a slow-paced, emotionally moving track about having two people in different places. Similar to Before You, talking about how, presumably, a lover has changed him. Minimal instrumentation allows Bailey's raw vocals to stand out in these, as they quickly become my favourite parts of this album. Nevertheless, the whole album does not miss with all songs being great additions

After listening to the album I have certainly enjoyed it but I still felt it was missing something, cant quite put my finger on what that is but maybe a slight bit more variety but nothing enough to diminish this great album.

Final thoughts

Different Night Same Rodeo is an excellent example of Bailey Zimmerman's talents in country and will no doubt propel him further into the spotlight. Country fans will certainly enjoy this new album as one of the big new boys in the genre continues to develop his sound and style. I look forward to see more of Bailey's future work.
